Never Put Off Exercise You Can Do Today Until Tomorrow
Posted on Monday, January 30, 2012 by Zhan
These are my new words to live. Actually I have a lot of words I try to live, and these are the latest I've added to my list. I hope to do more exercise and eating well, and reduce my stress, I will see my 90th birthday and is still sharp enough to know that my 90th birthday, when it finally rolls around.
I want to be able to get up from chairs, wheelchairs can not, alone, unaided, and walk over to get my other little piece of it (after all my birthday). I would like for all my friends, at least my best friends, that "never put off exercise can do today until tomorrow", or because they want to continue to have some of my friends to come around on my 90th birthday party. After all, what is the point that the parties, if there is nobody there but me?
I was trying to live by these words for about a month now and have found that my total weekly exercise time was increased (It's so rewarding when you try to order something). I am sleeping better, have lost a little weight and I'm not getting sleepy sitting on my desk mid-afternoon, almost as often as I was. In short, it is working.
So what was my motivation for this idea of mine? It seems like I am always pressed for time and getting exercise is a major priority of mine. At the beginning of each week I look at the week ahead to see if they can get in a quick 30-40 minutes of work. There are a couple of weeks, when it seems as if I had three days in a row that they can exercise, and then two days later, maybe two days in a row. So, what I did in the past (which I now do differently) is an exercise in several different parts of the body, and then save the other parts for the next day. Here is the problem. About half the time something is coming the next day, and I would not have to exercise. Then I end up aggravated at myself for not going forward and achieving more of my body the day before when I was already in the gym and had a few minutes remaining I could do it.
Now, whenever I'm about finished working out and you notice I have a few minutes left I'll go ahead and exercise different muscle group or two. I do not save for tomorrow, because you never what tomorrow will bring. Things come and emergencies, as happens when you do it. At least that's what I was doing and so far I was able to increase the total exercise time. Try it.
