Do you know that in order to keep your heart healthy and your weight under control, you need to walk at least 10,000 steps each day? This May sound daunting, but many of the activities you do every day, such as running errands or doing household work can add up to hundreds or even thousands of steps for you.
To maintain your health and make sure you achieve 10,000 steps each day, here are some simple and easy exercises you can do at home. These exercise routines not only help keep you fit but it will tone your body and work on some specific muscle groups. They are much more effective than general exercise such as running errands and doing chores. Here are simple exercises you can do at home:
- stretching exercises. Stand with both hands on the wall and move left foot back so that your foot is flat on the floor. Hold for a few seconds, then repeat this step with the right foot. Another great stretching exercises you can do is lie on your back, use both hands, bring up your right knee to your chest and hold it for a few seconds. Repeat this routine with your left leg.

Put both feet on one end of the band, hold the other ends with both hands, and then repeatedly raise and lower band (the up and down motion for 10-15 minutes). If you have a pair of dumbbell, you can use them to practice hands.
- If you work at home and sitting in front of my computer most of the time, try to press on the toes in an upward and downward movement often. This activity will help keep blood circulation flowing in your legs.
