Paleo Diet and Exercise



Paleolithic Diet is a throwback to our roots. It includes some pretty in-depth research and science by several doctors at Colorado State University. Their research shows that the human body has not evolved properly digest many modern foods we eat.

Human beings lived as hunter / gatherers for most of its existence. It was not until recent times, the last 10,000 years or so, we started to eat more foods that are staples of the modern. The food our bodies are not adapted to the cereals, legumes, dairy products and salt. There are probably other foods have not adapted as well.

The basic principle of the Paleolithic diet is to stop poisoning your body with food are not adapted to eat. Humanity is many generations to adapt to eat meat, fish, poultry, vegetables, fruits, tubers, roots and nuts. Sticking to a diet containing these foods first, you will live healthier, happier life.

If you look at the diseases that commonly plague modern man, we see that many of them because of the food we eat. Some examples of diseases that are required to be present because of our diet include coronary heart disease, hypertension, diabetes type 2, epithelial cell cancers and autoimmune diseases, as well as others. As a fact, it is estimated that up to 75 percent of the adult population in the world is lactose intolerant.

Paleolithic Lifestyle also involves a lot more exercise than is usually the case in modern society. It is believed that our ancestors walked about 8.5 miles per day. Other common tasks were building shelter, gathering wood, carrying various heavy objects, digging, dancing and a tool for building. These activities are conducted at different intervals, and any form of exercise we adopt intervals of intense activity that involves doing to our overall physical health.

Another thing that proponents of the Paleolithic diet is usually called for a balance between omega-3 and omega-6 acids as the key to good health. Eat more fatty fish like salmon can help with this condition. People who try this diet are also encouraged to eat meat from grass fed animals and eggs from free range grass fed chickens.

Switching to the Paleolithic diet is usually not easy. People who try to switch often go through withdrawal symptoms as they may become irritable. Once a person has been on this diet for a week or two, these symptoms should subside.
